Where I Am From Poem

Where I Am From Poem

This is a poem that describes me through my lifetime of where I am from. It is influenced by the ‘Where I Am From Poem’ by George Ella Lyon.

Where I Am From Poem

By: Tice Jenkins

I am from basketball and soccer

From the court and the field

I am from the 22nd street block

rowdy, crazy, and wild

I am from Husker football and spontaneous moments

From the Tice and Jenkins family

I’m from the family reunions and card-playing family

From the secrets and childish games

I’m from the early Sunday mornings and Christian education

I’m from the Midwest

I am one of the slices of pie, one of the ingredients in the pasta salad

From the fireworks that never have an end

The memories that are everlasting

happiness and heartaches

These things I will forever treasure
