I continue to read Warriors: Into the Wild. Thus far, the author, Erin Hunter, has developed the characters in a way to show conflict. What Erin Hunter shows foreshadowing and description of setting.

As of right now, Firepaw continues his training to become a warrior, but within that, there was chaos. There was a gathering when I was reading, which is when a few cats from each clan come together to meet each other in peace. ShadowClan, a cat clan, had some requests, which involved with conflict of the other clans. ShadowClan was acting suspicious because they ran out WindClan of their territory. WindClan didn’t show up, but ShadowClan demands more territory to hunt for their cats. ThunderClan did not agree with this because this has never happened before. The gathering then ended and they went onto this journey to the ‘MoonStone.’ The MoonStone was this sacred place for the clan leaders to go to and BlueStar had a vision of terror that something would happen to the clan. They began to head back to the clan.

Through the book, Erin Hunter shows great description of the setting for example. “He followed the others throu the grassy clearing and up the slope on the other side…The bushy slope became steeper as they climbed..leaping boulder to boulder” (Hunter 168). This can just give you a feel of what the terrain was like and how harsh it was to travel through the terrain.

Another example is foreshadowing. Erin Hunter is very good at foreshadowing telling the leader that something is about to go down. Before Firepaw was getting visions about how something bad would happen, but it was only the dream. Once BlueStar went to the MoonStone, she also was very worried about the clan. This shows you that so,etching is about to happen. The dream of Firepaw happened on page 166.

Overall, I am loving this book. The plot is interesting and the conflict between each clan is outstanding. The author, Erin Hunter, truly knows how to keep a reader attached to the books. I’d say I am one of those readers.
