Death of a Salesman has a very interesting ending, but has a lot of meaning to what it is trying to portray. It really shows another perspective of what the American Dream is. With Willy’s struggles it truly tells us what the American Dream can be like. The American Dream at time sometimes just sounds to good to be true in some people’s eyes. With Willy, he knows that he is failing and that he is not being successful. He just can’t come to the fact that he is failing and not living the American Dream.  Willy always has the trouble of having the perspective of reality v.s. dream.

I was kind of surprised at the fact of how Willy continued to try and fix the big hole he was in. You would think he would give up his career and maybe figure out to get a smaller job that you know you will get a profit from and go from there. Instead of putting yourself in more and more debt. It’s crazy to understand that everyone has their own personal dream. Some of them are hard to reach and others are easy as ever could be. It’s like if you don’t have a dream, you don’t have a reason to live. That’s what the world says to us, but what God says is a lot different. With that being said all these things on earth don’t even matter, but what we can do is use the talents and abilities that God gave us to glorify him in all that we do.

In conclusion, I think that Death of a Salesman gives us a great understanding that the American Dream is not easy to achieve, and if you even work your tail off you won’t always experience the American Dream. Just as Willy witnessed, he worked his tail off, but still failed at the American Dream. This being the outcome brought him to think that his meaning in life was nothing and he was worthless to the world. Of course, everyone has a reason why they are here on this earth and it may not be the reason you think. God has that reasoning and he has a plan for each individual on this earth.
